Tango Telecom announces major expansion
Dateline: 15 October 2004
Tango Telecom, a leading provider of real-time convergent charging and message delivery solutions announce major business expansion with new contracts won in Latin America, Middle East and Asia.
Three new contracts have been won for the market-leading Tango Convergent Charging Node (CCN), to provide prepaid SMS, GPRS and data for both GSM and CDMA Operators. A fourth contract was also awarded to Tango for the Tango SMS Direct Delivery Solution.
Working with a strategic partner in each of the new regions, Tango has significantly expanded its market presence with these major carrier deployments.
In Latin America, Tango has deployed a highly-available real-time charging solution to provide real-time prepaid SMS across 4 countries, from a single site. The system is supporting several million subscribers on a mixture of GSM and CDMA bearer networks. In the Middle East, Tango will provide their real-time GPRS prepaid solution, enabling prepaid bearer and content charging on a legacy IN prepaid platform.
Following a highly competitive tender for a Direct Delivery (SMSC Off-load) solution with real-time prepaid SMS charging, Tango beat many of the established and emerging players to win the contract in the Far East. The contract includes a geographically distributed, highly available and high performance solution for a tier 1 mobile operator. An expansion order for prepaid GPRS capabilities is currently being deployed.
"Our pedigree and product capability is proven with these latest tier 1 contract wins and Tango is now a major provider in the global mobile communications market", said Colm Ward, CEO of Tango.
"This announcement signals a rapid expansion of our operations globally. With the addition of several new strategic channels to market and an ongoing recruitment campaign at our headquarters in Ireland, we are gearing up to take a leadership position in our target markets", he added.
