Z-Tel chooses Voxsurf

VoxSurf Ltd, the leading independent provider of voice-controlled, Open Standards, IP-based voicemail and advanced messaging solutions, today announced at ITU Telecom World 2003, Geneva, that Z-Tel Communications, Inc., a wholly-owned subsidiary of Z-Tel Technologies, Inc. (Nasdaq/SC: ZTEL) and leading provider of local, long distance and enhanced telecommunications services, has licensed its VxOne™ platform. As a result of the deal, Z-Tel will use VxOne™ to deploy advanced messaging services for its fixed-line subscribers and wholesale customers.

VxOne™ is the first platform of its kind to be deployed in carrier strength in the US. It not only provides an intuitive voice-activated interface to voicemail, email and other message types but also enables messages to be accessed via any email client, HTML or WML-enabled device. Future services such as VoIP, MMS Voicemail are also supported.

The solution incorporates the Nuance Voice Platform V2.0 and Critical Path mailstore, marking the first collaboration between VoxSurf and these leading component providers.
