AMT and Rockwell Collins sign software deal

Award winning aviation industry software provider, Aircraft Management Technologies (AMT) and Rockwell Collins (NYSE:COL), a leading aviation electronics and communications supplier, today announced their intention to integrate AMT's Flightman™ software platform into Rockwell Collins' avionics and Information Management solutions.In a deal worth in excess of €10M, AMT will enable Rockwell Collins' emerging platforms to utilise the latest open, service- oriented software technology to develop advanced customer driven on-board solutions.

Rockwell Collins will use AMT's applications platform as the base for their industry-leading information management solutions. The software will run on Rockwell Collins' Information Management platforms, a blend of COTS-grade IT hardware and software hosting avionics-grade open architecture software applications. Rockwell Collins' integrated management technology enables airlines to extend their business information systems to their aircraft in order to provide greater customer service and improve operational efficiency.

Flightman is an innovative wireless solution that allows integration of an airline's critical processes on the flight deck and replaces the paper forms used to manage commercial aircraft. The application allows electronic entry of a wide range of operations and maintenance information by flight and ground crew, and tracking, management and reporting of that data using web services via the internet.
Rockwell Collins is providing the information management architecture for both Boeing and Airbus aircraft through separate agreements with Connexion by Boeing and Airbus. The partnership includes provisions for extending the platform applications into further areas of the airlines' operations.
